About Adventure Aware

Hello! I’m Matt — an operations and logistics specialist with over 15 years’ experience leading teams and delivering projects in some of the world’s most remote, unpredictable, and high-pressure environments.

From international yacht races to high-end motorsport activations, I’ve worked with companies like Evolution Sport and the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, building the systems that keep people safe and operations on track when the margin for error is razor-thin. I’ve handled everything from port logistics and crew onboarding to emergency planning and site ops, always with a practical, problem-solving approach honed on the ground.

My career has taken me across six continents, through jungles, plains, coastlines, valleys, megacities, and mountaintops. I’ve spent time working and travelling through parts of Asia, the Americas, Africa, Oceania, and Europe — whether on assignment, racing, or motorbiking solo through the Himalayas to catch a glimpse of Everest. I’ve raced in the Rolex Fastnet Race, supported national kitesurf and windsurf championships, and been the go-to person when something needs fixing — fast!

Adventure Aware was born out of this journey: a way to turn years of checklists, what-ifs, and lived experience into a simple, flexible risk assessment tool for teams who operate on the edge of comfort zones. I believe that good planning doesn’t need to be complicated — just smart, clear, and adaptable. Work smarter, not harder!

When I’m not writing risk matrices or helping teams get expedition-ready, you’ll probably find me kitesurfing, flying helicopters, driving something with an engine, or solving a last-minute challenge that no one else wants to touch.

The next adventure is always just around the corner!
